Emmaus welcomes people who wish to take time out to find meaning in their lives through the adventure of the spiritual search. This is facilitated through various forms of dialogue, experiential programmes, workshops, conferences and retreats. Some of these opportunities are hosted by members of the Religious Community resident at Emmaus while others are facilitated by professionals who use Emmaus as their conference and meeting venue.
Since its foundation Emmaus has been especially attentive to the faith development of young people. This work continues with emphasis on training for peer ministry while the resident Youth Retreat Team offers both residential and non residential retreat experiences to second level senior students. In addition a programme for primary school children preparing for Confirmation is provided.
Emmaus offers modern residential accommodation with 62 ensuite guest rooms of the highest standard close to Dublin Airport. The Conference Venue and Meeting Rooms are equipped to facilitate the needs of modern technology. All conference, meeting rooms and bedrooms are equipped with Free WiFi Internet Access. Dining Rooms and Coffee Docks are tastefully decorated to add to the comfort of those attending any programme. The Oratory and Prayer Rooms offer an oasis of quiet for all. Residents are invited to join the community for prayer, if they so wish.
Emmaus has the added advantage that, while being within ten minutes of Dublin Airport and three minutes off the M1 it rests in the beautiful setting of rural mature grounds which offer quiet tree-line pathways, landscaped gardens and a river walk. The sound of birdsong and the profusion of wildlife all add to the beauty and tranquility of the place. Here God and nature dwell in harmony.
In the gospel story of the journey to Emmaus, it was while in conversation on the road that the disciples had their ears and hearts opened to God’s Word. It was in the sharing of the bread that the disciples recognised Jesus. Our hope is that those who come to Emmaus will experience the presence of Jesus in their lives as they “break bread” together and break open the word of God.
